Our flag represents our shared commitment to one another and to the values we have sought to hold from the beginning of this experience. Elm thus embodies the metaphor of the tree, which is shown in the center of our flag, just as it remains central to our identities. Representing the shared connection we hold together at the roots of the tree, and formed from the strong base built by our staff, we branch off, showing our individuality. Our colors represent the values that nurture this tree, with blue showcasing wisdom and pride gained through our extensive experience and collaboration with one another, and white representing our honesty and transparency, which are fundamental to the trust upon which our community and government are built. Our final color is yellow, which exhibits our integrity and joy. We, as a city, have epitomized these traits throughout our time at Evergreen Boys and Girls State. From winning the best city award on the first day to supporting our members on their leadership journeys, and excelling in competitions as a city. Elm truly represents the characteristics shown in our flag, and we will continue to represent these traits far into our bright futures.
